PDF to Word for selectable text
The converter reads text items already stored in a PDF and writes them into a basic editable DOCX file. It groups extracted text into paragraphs where the PDF text layer provides line boundaries. This is a text export, not a faithful recreation of the original page design.
Scanned pages contain pixels rather than selectable characters and are not recognized here. Tables, columns, fonts, images, headers, footers, and exact reading order may be missing or rearranged. If a document is mostly a scan, run OCR separately and proofread the recognized text before using it in Word.
- Choose one readable PDF up to 20 MB.
- Convert the selectable text in your browser.
- Open the DOCX and compare its paragraphs with the source PDF.
The source PDF is not modified. Password-encrypted, malformed, or unusual PDFs may fail during reading. Do not use this output as a layout-preserving replacement for the original.
