Each output page contains up to five columns and twenty-two rows. The PDF is image-based; its text is not selectable.

What the workbook converter puts in the PDF

This Excel to PDF tool reads the displayed cell values from an XLSX workbook and draws them into printable table pages. Long sheets are divided into row sections, and wider sheets are divided into column sections. Each page uses a simple grid with generated column labels.

“Convert Excel to PDF” and “XLSX to PDF” describe this direction of conversion. The reverse task, turning PDF tables into a workbook, is handled by PDF to Excel.

The result is an image-based PDF. It does not preserve spreadsheet formulas, formatting, charts, images, print settings, or interactive features. Formula cells use their saved displayed values; formulas are not recalculated. Review the output before sharing or printing.

How to create a PDF copy

  1. Choose one XLSX workbook up to 20 MB.
  2. Select “Create PDF from workbook.” Populated worksheets are rendered into pages in this browser.
  3. Open the downloaded PDF and check page breaks, text, and every worksheet section.

The workbook stays on this device during processing and is not sent to a document-processing server. The original workbook is not changed. Only the XLSX format is accepted; older XLS files and other spreadsheet formats are not supported by this page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert an Excel workbook to PDF for free?

Yes. This page is free to use and does not require an account. It converts one XLSX workbook at a time in the browser.

Will the PDF keep formulas and cell formatting?

No. It uses the workbook's saved displayed cell values and draws them as images. Formulas are not recalculated, and original cell styles, charts, and images are not preserved.

Can I select or search text in the PDF?

No. The output pages are raster images, so their cell text is not selectable or searchable as PDF text.
