What flattening changes
Flatten PDF converts supported interactive AcroForm fields, such as text inputs and checkboxes, into page content in a separate copy. The field values remain visible, but the fields are no longer editable as form controls.
Flattening does not remove or flatten every annotation type. It is not a security redaction method: hidden or covered information may remain in the file. Check the output with the viewer and workflow you intend to use.
Review the flattened copy
- Choose one PDF up to 20 MB.
- Run the tool to flatten interactive form fields.
- Open the downloaded copy and verify the visible values and remaining annotations.
PDFs without interactive form fields are not processed. Encrypted, malformed, or unsupported documents may fail. Editing may invalidate a digital signature.
